We are happy to announce that The Southwest Council of Latin American Studies (SCOLAS) is now accepting panel and individual paper proposals for the 58th Conference to be held in person in Panama City, Panama March 21 to 23, 2024.

El comité organizador se complace en anunciar que está aceptando propuestas presenciales –paneles y presentaciones individuales- para el LVIII Congreso de Southwest Council of Latin American Studies (SCOLAS) que se llevará a cabo de forma presencial en la Ciudad en Panamá, Panamá del 20 al 23 de marzo de 2024.

SCOLAS is an interdisciplinary organization that encourages diverse panels, methods, and interests. We welcome participation by scholars and students interested in Latin America, including studies of immigration, transnationalism, and U.S. Hispanic history, literature and culture.
SCOLAS hosts annual conferences in Latin America and the southwestern United States. These conferences offer stimulating panels, opportunities to meet other scholars, visits to places of historical and cultural importance, and awards for books, articles, and graduate students.
